Queens Road
- Babelas: A continental bar that serves very good food for a reasonable price. One of their signature dishes is moules marinieres.
- Barceloneta: This Spanish tapas restaurant is popular so it's wise to book, and it's completely authentic.
- Jone's Cafe Bar: A lovely bistro that serves excellent food and is extremely popular with the local community.
London Road
- Akash Tandoori: Akash Tandoori is a completely new experience in Indian cusine. Providing not only the traditional popular dishes, but also Akash Tandoori very own exciting new recipes created and the most selected exclusively for this establishment. Speciality: Bangladeshi Cuisine
- Antibos: This is an Italian restaurant (but not serving authentic Italian food). It is within walking distance of DeMontfort Hall and close to Leicester Railway station. Speciality: Italian Food.
- Belmont Hotel: Food in the main restaurant, Cherry’s, combines fresh local ingredients with a Mediterranean ethos, choose from a three choice table d’hote or spoil yourself and select from the fabulous four course a la carte menu.
- Curry House: If you're looking for a great night out with delicious Indian Cuisine served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere then The Curry House is the perfect restaurant for you. With an extensive menu including Tawa dishes and great vegetarian options, The Curry House has something for everyone.
- La Tosca: This is a traditional Italian restaurant serving good quality, simple, freshly prepared food.
- Regency Hotel: Two choices of dining are available. The elegant 'Town House' specialises in Traditional and Modern A la Carte cuisine whilst 'Langtry's' conservatory serves a simpler and much more informal menu.
- Shimla Pinks: This restuarant offers a diverse menu that draws inspiration from countless sources and offers many interesting tastes; food fit for grand Moghul emperors, regional and local dishes, and recipes that have passed through generations by word of mouth.
- Siam Corner: Excellent Thai Cuisine from a Chef with the reputation of being one of the best Thai chefs in the East Midlands.
- The Tiffen: Quality surroundings serving north Indian cuisine including Karai dishes. The restaurant has an outstanding reputation which means it is frequently very busy.
- Yen Lin: Yen Lin is a Chinese ne dining restaurant serving contemporary Chinese food with signature dishes of Garlic Chilli King Prawn and Manchurian Chicken. Yen Lin also boasts an exclusive vegetarian section on the menu with dishes like Crispy Chilli Mushroom and Vegetable Pancake Wraps.
City Centre
- Ask: Tradional Italian food, Ask mainly serves pizza and pasta dishes. Enjoy some al fresco dining in the St. Martin's Square courtyard.

- The Almanack: The Almanack is a modern British gastropub in Highcross. Elegant but very down to earth, it serves high quality fresh seasonal food & great beers, wines & spirits all at pub prices. The look may be fresh but the service is old-fashioned; friendly & relaxed but professional. The entrance leads into a comfortable bar & lounge furnished with vintage armchairs and sofas from the 60s & 70s. You can eat in the bar or in the dining room with views of the open kitchen. Golden Mile
The Golden Mile is a name given to a stretch of the Belgrave Road in Leicester. It is reknowned for its authentic Indian restaurants, sari shops and jewellers and has been described as "the closest that Britain comes to an Indian bazaar". Below are a selection of restaurants from the Golden Mile:
